| Time |
Add up to 7 reagents in sequence at any specified
rate from 1 ul per hour to 100 ml per minute. |
| Temperature |
Add reagents as a function of time while staying
within a specified upper or lower temperature limit. |
| pH |
Add reagents as a function of time while staying
within a specified pH limit. |

Sequence of addition
-
Reactor pressure
-
External inputs
-
External valves

The Reaction
Controller is J-KEM’s most versatile instrument and is unique among
laboratory automation equipment. Rather than being offered with preset take-them-or-leave-them
features, the Reaction Controller is custom designed by J-KEM to meet
the requirements of your unique application. Simply describe the
requirements of the process and J-KEM will manufacture a Reaction
Controller to automate it. The two Reaction Controllers below automate
the most common tasks of adding reagents as a function of time,
temperature, and pH. Contact J-KEM about custom programming and
features. |

Description |
| INF-DC-T |
Reaction controller with thermocouple input.
Has the same programs as J-KEM’s syringe
pump but with an added temperature control feature. Program
example: "Add 10 ml of reagent
A at a rate of 0.15 ml/min but adjust the addition rate, as
needed, so as not to exceed -20° C. Then add 5 ml of reagent B at 1 ml/min but
don’t exceed 35C".
Enter up to an 8 step program. Log temperature, time and reagent
volume added. Requires the selection of a syringe and
distribution valve from page 8. Programs
can be run using the computer built into the reaction controller
or from a remote PC. |
| INF-DC-TP |
Reaction controller with thermocouple and pH
input. Has all the features of the INF-RC-T,
above, but with an added pH control feature. Program
example: "Add 100 ml of reagent A
at a rate of1.25 ml/min, but adjust the
addition rate so that reaction pH never exceeds 6.50 and the
temperature remains below 45°C".
Enter up to an 8 step program. Logs time, temperature, reagent
volume, and pH data. Requires the
selection of a syringe and distribution valve from page 8. |
| Option |
Optional features. Reaction
controllers support up to 8 analog inputs (temperature, pH,
pressure, flow rate), 2 analog outputs, high current DC outputs,
digital inputs, 120 Vac outlets, and multiple serial ports. |
|
Optional Features:
* 8 analog inputs for
temperature, pH, pressure, or other analog sensors.
* 14 high current outputs to control valves, motors,
or other control devices.
* 16 digital inputs to read switches, level
detectors, or other digital inputs.
* 5 serial ports to interface with balances, PC’s,
pumps or other serial devices. |
